Freezing Drizzle Could Cause Slippery Roads In SE Wisconsin

A winter weather advisory is in effect Wednesday morning until 9 a.m. across southeastern Wisconsin amid potentially slippery roads.

WISCONSIN — Parts of southeastern Wisconsin are under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. Wednesday morning as light freezing rain could cause slippery stretches of road for the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS Forecasters say a light glaze of ice could accumulate in east-central, south-central and southeast Wisconsin possibly causing very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges. Drivers were advised to slow down while traveling and residents were encouraged to prepare for possible power outages.

Areas where the temperatures are below freezing and further inland from Lake Michigan have the best chance for seeing freezing drizzle, the NWS said in a tweet Wednesday morning.
