How To Watch: Milwaukee's Groundhog Gordy Makes Weather Prediction
Gordy, the resident groundhog at the Milwaukee County Zoo, will make his prediction for the rest of winter on Thursday. Here's how to watch.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Many will likely tune into the legendary Punxsutawney Phil on Thursday to hear a prediction about the weather in the coming weeks, but Phil is not the only rodent handing out forecasts. Here in Milwaukee, we have Gordy, who will also make a prediction Thursday morning.
Gordy will be making his live weather prediction at 9 a.m. at the Milwaukee County Zoo with hosts County Executive David Crowley and Zoo Director Amos Morris, a news release from the zoo said.
The event takes place before the zoo opens, but the event will be live-streamed on its Facebook page. Local news television outlets are likely to stream the event as well.

As for the weather predictions, if Gordy comes out and sees his shadow, he will go back to his burrow for six more weeks of winter. If Gordy doesn't see his shadow, though, we're in store for an early spring (or so legend has it).
While Gordy is sure to have his fun on Thursday alongside Crowley and Morris, we must acknowledge, this is Wisconsin — AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Paul Pastelok had some relatable remarks in a Wednesday report:

“Don’t be fooled,” Pastelok said in Accuweather's spring 2023 outlook. “There’s still some winter left in this season that may last into spring, and we could be talking about snow in March. And we may even see a little bit of snow in the Northeast in April.”
