Man Bound Over For Trial In Franklin Kidnapping Charges

A man accused of abducting a 79-year-old woman in Franklin in November, 2022, is expected to head to trial, online court records showed.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The man accused of abducting a woman in Franklin by getting into her car at gunpoint and then keeping her inside for 16 hours in November has been bound over for trial after pleading not guilty to charges on Tuesday in Milwaukee, according to a criminal complaint and online court records.

Timothy L. Olson, 52, faces charges in Milwaukee County of kidnapping, misappropriating identity information to obtain money, resisting an officer, and burglary to a building and to a motor home, according to online court records. The accused appeared by video for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday where a motion to dismiss by the defense was denied before Olson pleaded not guilty and was bound over for trial, records showed.

"Mr. Olson has entered not guilty pleas," said his attorney Jeffrey Jensen in a statement to Patch. "We have not yet seen any of the evidence, and, consequently, we cannot offer any further comment."

The 79-year-old woman told police that she was leaving a restaurant near Rawson Avenue and 31st Street when the man got into her car and demanded debit card, according to a complaint. The two then drove around until she was able to escape the morning of Thanksgiving, the complaint said.

Olson made small talk with the woman in the bar before she left and introduced himself as Mario, the complaint said. Hours after their first meeting, the woman was able to escape when the man parked her car in the 3800 block of 108th Street in Greenfield, according to the complaint.

After the incident, police found five possibly fraudulent purchases on the woman's credit card made in Oak Creek, Greendale and Milwaukee, according to the complaint.

Olson had earlier been slated by police as a person of interest in a woman's death. South Milwaukee police said Kim Mikulance lost consciousness and died after being seen with the accused in mid-November. Earlier, police in Racine posted public bulletins about Olson on Nov. 9, and again on Nov. 21, saying they knew of three women who ended up unconscious with him.
