City leaders are urging teens to learn more about the paid program.

MILWAUKEE, WI— The Milwaukee Fire Department is actively recruiting candidates who are looking to get the opportunity to get paid while exploring a career within the Milwaukee Fire Department.
“The Fire Cadet Program offers a tremendous opportunity for young people – including people of color – to get a firsthand look at what being a fire department member looks like,” Alderman Stamper said. “It can be a very rewarding career with great pay and benefits, and I strongly encourage those who are interested to apply as soon as possible.”
The city is currently recruiting for the fire cadet, for which applicants must be 17 to 19 years old.
