Mother's Day 2022: Milwaukee Zoo, Fitness And Comedy Shows For Mom

MILWAUKEE, WI — On Mother's Day, most Wisconsin residents will take their mom out to dinner or brunch, or spend money on a gift. Some active moms might want to spend the day out on a walk or to a trip to a local park or zoo.
The Milwaukee County Zoo is offering a free day for moms on her special day, May 8. In addition, the Stand Up and Laugh Tour and the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce will provide fitness opportunities and entertainment for that special lady in your life.

- Mother's Day At The Zoo: That's right, mothers get free admission at the Milwaukee County Zoo at 10001 W. Bluemound Road on May 8. The zoo has its own mother, a pre-hensile-tailed porcupine named Quinn who gave birth on March 27. Zoo hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Mother's Day Comedy Jam: Stand Up and Laugh Tour will have an early bird special for a comedy show in the Fredrick Lofts at 1125 North 9th St. on Mother's Day. Featured comedian is Funny Lady Sonya 'D,' and she will be joined by comedians from Milwaukee and Detroit. The event starts at 8 p.m.
- Mommy and Me Mothers Day Fitness Walk: Burn off the calories after brunch with a walk through Veteran's Park. The Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce will have fitness instructors guide families of all fitness levels through stretches and warm-ups before taking a walk through the lakeside park.
