Audubon Robotics Teams Help Students Break Down Barriers and Build Skills (and Confidence) (milwaukeecourieronline.com) — Students at Milwaukee’s Audubon Technology and Communication High School are building confidence and STEM skills through two thriving robotics teams, including a new all-girls squad called Av414nche. With mentors from Milwaukee School of Engineering, Marquette, and Milwaukee Area Technical College, teens from middle through high school are learning design, coding, and teamwork while competing in statewide robotics contests.
   

2. Program Helps Milwaukeeans Obtain Homeownership With Interest-Free Loans - Milwaukee Courier Weekly Newspaper (milwaukeecourieronline.com) — Milwaukee residents struggling with credit card or predatory debt can tap an interest-free loan program from the Milwaukee Jewish Free Loan Association to move closer to homeownership. Working through local housing agencies, participants use loans to clear high-interest balances, improve credit scores, and qualify for mortgages. The growing fund now serves households countywide and reports strong repayment and no defaults so far.
   

3. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley Commemorates National Blood Donor Month (milwaukeecourieronline.com) — Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is urging residents to donate blood during National Blood Donor Month, highlighting how local donations power innovative EMS whole-blood transfusions and other lifesaving care in Milwaukee County. He points to strong early results from a county pilot that gives trauma patients transfusions before reaching the hospital and stresses the need for more diverse donors, especially Black residents. Milwaukeeans can schedule donations at Versiti’s Milwaukee Blood Donation Center or nearby drives.
   

4. New employment hub supports people leaving nearby correctional facilities (onmilwaukee.com) — Milwaukee residents returning from incarceration can now access job training, mentoring, and financial counseling in one North Side hub shared by Employ Milwaukee and the city’s Office of African American Affairs. The partnership centralizes pre- and post-release support, connects people to employers open to hiring those with records, and offers easy access by bus. Community members can also call or visit to seek broader family and youth services.
   

5. New community group will focus on improving Jackson and Manitoba Parks (jsonline.com) — Neighbors around Jackson and Manitoba Parks in Milwaukee just launched a new Friends group to revitalize both parks, backed by a surprise $5,000 donation and additional local funding. Organizers and nearby residents are planning accessibility upgrades, events, and year‑round programming, and they’re inviting more neighbors to get involved through upcoming outreach activities and the group’s website and Facebook page.
