Rainfall Could Cause Flooding In Parts Of Milwaukee Area: NWS

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties after Monday's rain.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The National Weather Service put a flood advisory into effect for parts of Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties until 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Widespread flooding is not expected but some areas may see significant ponding in lower areas, the NWS said. The possible flooding comes after "plenty of rain" has fallen with more expected into Monday morning, according to the NWS.

The rain could cause urban flooding in poor drainage areas and small stream flooding. Around 1-1.5 inches of rain was reported by 8:30 a.m., the NWS said.

Areas that may experience flooding include Milwaukee, Waukesha, Wauwatosa, New Berlin, Brookfield, Greenfield, Oak Creek, Muskego, Menomonee Falls, Mequon, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, Whitefish Bay, West Allis, Greendale and beyond.
