WISCONSIN — Smoky and hazy skies are expected to move into southeastern Wisconsin Wednesday and linger into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The hazy skies could end up filtering the sunshine for southeast parts of the state and could come after a foggy start to Wednesday, according to a tweet by the NWS.

The southern haze is expected amid air quality alerts in the north from the Canadian wildfires. An area stretching from the far north of the state down to La Crosse and the Wisconsin Dells is set to have unhealthy air for sensitive groups until noon Thursday, the NWS said.
