WISCONSIN — A round of thunderstorms could bring hail and gusty winds to southeast Wisconsin by Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms are expected ahead of a cold front Wednesday afternoon and evening, the NWS said. Southeast Wisconsin in particular, including the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas, may be hit with some stronger storms capable of "marginally severe" hail and gusty winds, and small chances of thunderstorms may linger into next week.

Scattered storms are expected across the southern part of Wisconsin into Wednesday afternoon, the NWS said in a tweet. Most storms will show frequent lightning and heavy downpours, but some could be stronger.
