MILWAUKEE, WI — Former President Donald Trump "has made up his mind" to skip Wednesday's GOP primary debate in Milwaukee in favor of an online interview with ousted Fox News host Tucker Carlson, The New York Times reported Friday, citing "multiple people" familiar with the matter.

Eight people, including Trump, have qualified for the debate, the Associated Press reported in early August. But there has been uncertainty about the former president's attendance at the event, which will be moderated by Fox New Channel.

On Thursday, NBC News reported that U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, plus U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz and U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida, will be among Trump's Republican allies traveling to Milwaukee for the debate.
