UPS Unveils Saturday Service To Select Metro Areas, Including Milwaukee

The change will reduce transit time and boost sales for online stores, whose customers often abandon their carts due to longer shipping time

UPS announced Monday that the company will be offering Saturday ground delivery and pickup services for the first time in the company's 109-year history.

The service will be rolled out in 15 select test locations in April, including the Milwaukee metro area, with plans to expand to nearly 4,700 cities nationwide by the holiday season.

According to the company, Saturday pickups and deliveries cut down on total shipping time, they hope to see an increase in online business sales, whose customers often abandon their shopping carts due to the length of shipping time.

The following locations will be added for testing until the change is fully implemented throughout the country: Indianapolis, St. Louis, Tampa, San Francisco, Cleveland, New York, Syracuse, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Denver, Chicago, and Knoxville.
