Veteran Missing From Greenfield Found Safe After Green Alert Issued

Authorities asked people in the Milwaukee area and beyond to be on the lookout for an at-risk veteran who was last heard from on Wednesday.

UPDATE: Authorities on Thursday said David Matthew Joecks was found safe.


MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for an at-risk veteran missing from Greenfield who was last heard from on Wednesday.

David Matthew Joecks, 41, left his Greenfield home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. for a job interview in Milwaukee, according to authorities. He left the business by 1:30 p.m. that day and his family have not heard from him since that morning, according to the Green Alert issued on Thursday for Joecks.

Joecks would likely be on a foot and does not have a vehicle with him, authorities said.

Authorities described Joecks as a 6-foot-1-inch man weighing 232 pounds with brown medium-length hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue polo, black pants and black shoes.
