WI Gas Prices Jump Again, Eclipse All-Time Record High
Gas prices in the Badger State are as high as they were 11 years ago, when the Badger State set its all-time record.

WISCONSIN — Gas prices across Wisconsin are as high as they were 11 years ago, eclipsing the Badger State's previous record set in 2011.
The average price for a gallon of gas in Wisconsin was $4.11 on Monday, data from AAA showed. That's nearly 20 cents higher ($3.93) than it was on May 2 and 33 cents higher ($3.78) than in April.

The Badger State set a record all-time high on May 5, 2011, when prices also hit $4.11, AAA data showed.
Prices for crude oil went up in early May and hovered over $105 a barrel, AAA said in a statement. Demand for gas is high and oil prices have risen, and the European Union proposed a ban on Russian oil import within six months, the association added.

On top of sanctions on Russian oil, the start of the summer will contribute to demand as more people go out and drive, GasBuddy petroleum analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement.
