Here are the top three stories today in Huntsville:
- Two shooting victims were found by the Huntsville Police Department (HPD) in North Huntsville early Sunday morning. HPD confirmed that officers arrived at the location of Dailey Terrace around 1:30 a.m. and discovered two individuals with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the 3700 block of Jordan Lane; as of Monday, they report there is "no further information to release at this time." (WHNT News 19)
- The Partnership for a Drug-Free Community will host a series of three town forums in the Huntsville area to discuss treatment options for substance use problems. The forums, part of the Partnership's Recovery Resource Hubs, aims to educate the public on different options across various faiths and economic statuses. Three different forums will be held in an effort to reach as many people as possible: Mar. 30 at the Downtown Huntsville Library Auditorium, Apr. 6 at His Way Recovery, and Apr. 20 at Madison Public Library. - The Huntsville City Football Club emerged victorious in the team's debut MLS NEXT Pro game against Crown Legacy FC on Sunday afternoon. Striker Azaad Liadi scored two goals, helping secure a 2-2 tie in regulation time before winning 4-3 in a shootout. Head Coach Jack Collison expressed excitement over the club's first win, praised his team's performance, and acknowledged the crucial support from the city of Huntsville. (WAAY)
