Here are the top three stories today in Huntsville:
- A Huntsville nonprofit is aiming to build an affordable apartment complex for seniors. Neighborhood Concepts is seeking to build a 48-unit apartment building on New Life Road that would be called the Grove at Indian Creek. The new apartments would be for people who are 55 or older and would be designed for the needs of seniors. Apartment eligibility would be determined by income and family size. (WHNT)
- The Madison County Board of Commissioners has allocated over $2 million in funding for volunteer fire departments throughout the county. To receive funding, departments have been asked to submit an application listing their needs. Madison County Commission Chair Mac McCutcheon expressed his determination to ensure that every volunteer fire department has the equipment it needs to protect its firefighters. Fire Chief Brandon Burgess has already submitted an application for new breathing equipment for the Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department. (WAFF)
