Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. A local Huntsville response group is leading a "Bama to Maui" relief effort to send critical aid to those affected by the fires on Maui. Leading the charge is Rev. Kerry Holder-Joffrion, an ordained Episcopal priest who has served at Huntsville’s Church of the Nativity and Monte Sano Methodist, who is currently on a three-year mission assignment as the vicar of West Kauai. In the wake of the fires, she assumed the role of Maui Relief Response coordinator for the Episcopal Church and tapped her community in Huntsville to assist with her relief efforts. Groups of volunteers have been on the ground in Hawaii assisting with relief under Holder-Joffrion's guidance. (WAFF)
  2. Yesterday afternoon, one person was pronounced dead following a car crash at Clinton Avenue and Governors Drive. Two people were taken to the hospital after the crash, with one ultimately passing after suffering a "medical emergency" and another sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The crash temporarily closed lanes and caused some traffic delays, which re-opened later in the afternoon. The identities of the victims have not been released. (WHNT News 19)
  3. Huntsville police are searching for a stolen vehicle involved in the murder of Devin Tyler McDonald, 23, which occurred at Quality Circle on Tuesday. The 2017 silver Nissan Altima is missing the passenger side mirror and front passenger hubcap. Police are advising anyone who sees the vehicle to immediately contact (256) 722-7100. (WAAY)
