Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Downtown Huntsville kicked off its two-week resurfacing project on Tuesday. While the project is taking place, traffic control will assist with detours. To see a full list of which streets will have lane closures, click here. (WHNT News 19)
  2. Researchers at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) won $750K in funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research. Mechanical and engineering faculty at UAH won a pair of research awards to collaborate with the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to advance toward plasma fusion energy. The project marks the first experimental collaboration between the university and the LANL. (Press Release Desk)
  3. At around 5:13 p.m., HEMSI and HPD responded to a vehicle and bicycle wreck on Hobbs Island Road. Authorities reported that an adult male who was riding the bicycle was transported to the hospital after the incident in stable condition. (WHNT News 19)
