- Huntsville Animal Services is seeking to "Clear the Shelters" this month as part of a national adoption campaign. Adoption fees for most adult pets have been waived for the month of August, and adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay or neuter surgery, and a city license. - A Huntsville native has signed to play football with the New England Patriots. Trey Flowers got his start at Columbia High School and went on to play college-level football in Arkansas. Flowers was drafted by the Patriots in 2015 and won two Super Bowls in four seasons with the team before signing with the Detroit Lions for three seasons. In 2022, he played for the Miami Dolphins, although he was placed on injured reserve in October. (WHNT)
