- On May 11, 22-year-old Tayveon Doron Markei Sanderson of Huntsville pleaded guilty to murder for the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Sanchez Leslie in July 2020. Sanderson was then sentenced to 40 years in prison. (AL.com)
- On May 11, Huntsville City Council authorized a $4.7 million roadway improvement project in North Huntsville. Grayson Carter & Son Contracting Inc. will make improvements to Monroe Road from Pulaski Pike to one mile east of Liberty Hill Road to help with the increasing traffic near North Huntsville Industrial Park. The portion of Monroe Road will be closed for construction for about four months and drivers will be instructed to detour using Patterson Lane. (City of Huntsville)
- Fifteen local companies were named "Huntsville's Best Places To Work," as determined by employee surveys. On May 10, the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber held a luncheon to give out the awards at the Von Braun Center. The award categories ranged from "Micro" to "X-Large" with gold, silver, and bronze winners in each category. (Huntsville Business Journal)

- On Monday, May 15, Monroe Street will be closed in both directions, between Clinton Avenue and the intersection of Monroe and Williams Avenue, due to graduation ceremonies. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) also warned the community of heavy traffic around the Von Braun Center on Monday afternoon and evening. (City of Huntsville)
- On May 11, the City of Huntsville authorized Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., to "conduct market analysis and visioning for future development in West Huntsville along Interstate 65." The research is part of a continuation of a 2011 Master Plan for Western Annexed Lands within Huntsville-annexed Limestone County. (City of Huntsville)
