Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. An Alabama delegation of lawmakers – including U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt – met with officials from U.S. Space Command to discuss the location of Space Command's headquarters. Alabama lawmakers say they received reassurance from U.S. Space Command General James Dickinson that Huntsville remains the top choice for the agency's relocation. The temporary headquarters for U.S. Space Command is currently in Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Air Force says that there should be an announcement coming this spring regarding its permanent location. (WAFF)
  2. The Huntsville Speedway will be hosting a toy drive this Saturday, Jun. 10 to support Toys for Tots. Speedway officials are inviting racing fans to bring a new, unopened toy with them to Saturday's race to help them meet their goal of 500 donated toys. This week's event will feature a 50-lap race with the Buster’s Pro Late Model division. Other divisions in action this week include Super Stocks, Hot Shots, Mini Modifieds, and the Dealer's Auto Action Buzz. (WAFF)
  3. Huntsville ice cream fans now have a new spot to grab a sweet treat with the opening of Big Spoon Creamery on Jefferson Street North. This is the creamery's third location, following the success of its locations in Birmingham and Homewood. Owned by a husband-and-wife team, Big Spoon Creamery combines ice cream with the element of fine dining, such as locally sourced ingredients and a rotating, seasonal menu. (SoulGrown)
