Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Madison Square Hotel, operating the Holiday Inn in Huntsville's MidCity District, has filed a lawsuit against The Camp, a neighboring event facility, for playing excessively loud music and disturbing hotel guests. The lawsuit alleges that The Camp's amplified music, particularly live music after 11:00 p.m., causes disturbances to the hotel, leading to complaints from customers and even fines from the city for violating noise ordinances. The hotel seeks damages and a permanent injunction on the late-night music in addition to listing multiple customer complaints and attempts to address the issue with The Camp. (AL.com)
  2. On Tuesday morning, a deceased individual was discovered in a parking lot on Quality Circle in Huntsville. Responding to reports of the body around 7:00 a.m., Huntsville police confirmed the death on-site. The cause of death and the person's identity remain unknown, prompting an ongoing death investigation; emergency medical services were called to the scene but were eventually canceled before arriving. (WAFF)
  3. The Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) is organizing its annual conference, themed "PR Lift Off," from Sep. 10-12, at the Embassy Suites Huntsville. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the conference will feature sessions on leadership, response strategies, and communication science, offering professional development and networking for SPRF members and attendees. Registration is open to the public, with options for one-day attendance. (Huntsville Business Journal)
