- A candlelight vigil was held for a 2-year-old in Huntsville. Family and friends got together to celebrate the short life of a two-year-old that they say was always a happy child. Sonny, his family nickname, was chosen because his smile always lit up the room like the sun. The candlelight vigil was followed by a balloon release attended by neighbors of the family. Investigators reported that the child's death was due to a beating that an Athens man has been charged with. A funeral for Kason Grady Jr. (Sonny) will be held on May 26 at St. Luke Christian church. The entire community is invited to come out and show their support. (WHNT News 19)
- The 2024 Toyota Tacoma engine will be manufactured at Toyota Alabama. The new engines for the popular mid-size truck will feature and 2.4-liter turbo engine. This is all part of Toyota's 222 million dollar investment in the production of four-cylinder engines. The new investment is expected to allow Toyota to manufacture 900,000 engines annually. Production on the new Tacoma will begin later this year. (WHNT News 19)
