- Residents of the Huntsville Summit apartments have started to return after a fire left them displaced for several days and are finding their homes in disarray. Resident Nathan Hopkins said that multiple maintenance requests have gone unanswered. (WAFF)
- Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley is holding its first "Women Build" project since 2008. A group of women volunteers is working to build a new home for Huntsville resident Tytionna Smith and her five-year-old son. Smith, who went through an extensive application process and has already invested many hours of sweat equity, said that the home will allow her to provide for her child in an affordable and safe environment. Anyone who is interested in joining this or future "Women Build" projects can email tdraper@habitatrivervalley.org. (Fox 54)
