Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. R.O.S.S. Madison County, a community recovery center, will be hosting a grand opening event in Huntsville on Friday, Jul. 7 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The center will be open daily from 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and will offer support groups, a children's room, and a computer lab. The organization offers peer support to individuals who are struggling with addiction with a focus on recovery. R.O.S.S. received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. (WHNT)
  2. A suspect has been arrested following a shooting in Huntsville on Wednesday morning. Twenty-year-old Jamontez Rodgers is facing charges of assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling following a shooting incident that occurred near the intersection of Foster and Drake Avenues. The alleged victim had non-life-threatening injuries. Rodgers has been booked into the Madison County Jail. (WAFF)
  3. The Redstone Rocket has found three great events happening this weekend in Huntsville! This evening, enjoy Cocktails at The View at Burritt on the Mountain. Tomorrow morning, there will be a yoga class at 9:00 a.m. in MidCity on the lawn under High Point's climbing wall. Participants are advised to bring their own mats and water bottles. Also on Saturday, Topgolf is hosting brunch and golf from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (Redstone Rocket)
