🌱 Rep. David Cole Pleads Guilty + Huntsville Music Month Free Shows

- Alabama Representative David Cole has applied to plead guilty to a felony charge of voter fraud. Cole resigned from his seat as the District 10 representative on Thursday, Aug. 31, and his plea agreement requires that he repay all the money he earned while acting as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives. Cole's plea agreement also requires that he serve 60 days in the Madison County Jail followed by probation. (WHNT)
- Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling is speaking out in opposition to potential increases in garbage service fees. At last week's District 4 meeting, Kling shared that the city hired a consultant to complete a rate study, which would compare Huntsville's water and garbage service fees to similar cities. Kling is anticipating that the consultant will recommend increasing garbage service fees, and he stated his opposition to that idea. (Rocket City Now)
- Huntsville Music Month is kicking off this weekend with free shows happening in Big Spring Park. The Launchpad Concert Series opened last night and will run through Sunday, Sep. 3. Tonight's show will feature local musicians Element XI and Microwave Dave. Tomorrow, Jessy J, Tr3ple Threat, and Erisa Nicole take the stage to kick off the Jazz in the Park event. The concerts will begin at 5:00 p.m., and there will be food trucks as well as alcoholic beverages available for purchase. (Huntsville Business Journal)
