Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:
- To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Lucky Duck Scavenger Hunt in Downtown Huntsville and the Year of Alabama Birding, a group of large yellow rubber ducks has invaded Big Spring Park Pond. The event dubbed an "Official Healthy Huntsville" activity, allows participants to explore Huntsville while searching for 15 ducks in an effort to claim a prize. (WHNT 19 News)
- After a $29 million renovation, Joe Davis Stadium, the former home of the Huntsville Stars, will be the new home of the Huntsville City Football Club, a minor league soccer team, starting on May 19. The renovation turned the stadium into a multipurpose facility for soccer, football, rugby, lacrosse, and even concerts, and the new permanent bleachers have been built in the outfield, reducing the stadium's capacity from 10,000 to 6,000. The city has also invested about $5 million in landscaping and infrastructure improvements around the stadium, with plans for a mixed-use development and a hotel. (Alabama)
- X'Zavier Scott is facing trial for the murder of Huntsville woman Tiffany Kelley, which occurred in September 2018. Scott and his then-girlfriend Domanek Jackson approached Kelley for a ride, then allegedly stabbed her in the neck, threw her out of the car, and stole the vehicle. Jackson was previously found guilty of robbing Kelley and sentenced to life in prison, while Scott now faces a capital murder trial. (WHNT 19 News)
