🌱 Two Men Arrested For Soliciting A Child + School Zone Enforcement

Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Huntsville police arrested two men after they were caught by the group Predator Poachers. According to a police department spokesperson, Frank Harry Hunt, 57, of Zephyrhills, Florida, and Carlton Dewayne Grayson, 51, of Laceys Spring, Alabama, were arrested in two separate incidents. Both men traveled to Huntsville to meet with a person they thought was a 12-year-old child. They are both facing charges of electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. (WAFF)
  2. Students at Huntsville City Schools returned to class this week, and the Huntsville Police Department will be patrolling school zones. Most of the school zones in Huntsville are active from 7:40-8:30 a.m. and from 3:40-4:10 p.m., and the police department is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for drivers caught speeding in a school zone. Drivers are reminded to slow down and leave earlier to ensure the safety of students as they go to school. (WAFF)
  3. The City of Huntsville has announced that Dr. James “Jimmy” Wall, who served on the City Council for 24 years, has died. Wall was 89 years old and was a respected community leader. In addition to serving as a city councilor, Wall served on the Huntsville Utilities Gas & Water boards for 24 years. Additionally, Wall co-founded the Community Free Dental Clinic, which provides low-income individuals in Madison County with dental services. (WHNT)
