Here are the top three stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Alabama residents will not see their tuition increase for the 2023-2024 school year at the University of Alabama, according to the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees. Tuition rates will remain frozen for in-state students at the university's main campus, as well as its locations at Huntsville and Birmingham. However, tuition for students coming from out of state will increase by three percent. (Rocket City Now)
  2. News 19 is teaming up with Huntsville-based nonprofit Kids to Love to pack bookbags for children in foster care. On Friday, Jun. 16, News 19 staff members will fill bookbags with school supplies such as paper, colored pencils, and pens. These bags will be given to children in foster care at the beginning of the school year. Click here to learn more about Kids to Love or make a donation. (WHNT)
  3. Huntsville's first "float spa" will be opening its doors later this year. Float Huntsville will be located next to Handel's Ice Cream at Blue in Valley Bend. According to the business' website, float therapy can be beneficial for chronic pain and stress relief. The float spa will offer tanks with heavily salted water that allow the customer to choose whether to keep the lights on or not to customize the level of relaxation. (WHNT)
