Luke Bryan was right. Pretty much all of us were.

Watching Tyler Allen sing with so much emotion after sharing his story of personal loss was gut-wrenching and, at the same time, uplifting.

This 24-year-old from Mobile is one to watch this season. He got a Golden Ticket to Hollywood on the season premiere of "American Idol" Sunday night.

He's a Davidson High grad, went to Bishop State and then to the University of Mobile, so there are a whole lot of alumni to cheer him on.
