  2. The Mobile Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that happened early Monday morning involving a seven-year-old child and another person sitting in a car. According to officials, a car pulled in front of the victim's car while another one pulled up and fired multiple shots into the vehicle before fleeing the scene. Police responded to the scene when they were called around 12:25 a.m. and found the two victims suffering from gunshot injuries. Both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (WKRG News 5)
  3. Mothers in Mobile are making a stand against gun violence with the "Mothers Involved Against Gun Violence" walk and rally that will be taking place this Sunday, Mar. 19. Founder Nija Hill started this organization after losing her 16-year-old son to gun violence, and she wanted to prevent other mothers from going through this same pain while also keeping the city of Mobile safe. To date, more than 85 mothers have joined the group, and the group is inviting anybody who cares and wants to make a difference to join the walk on Sunday. Mothers Involved Against Gun Violence is an affiliate of the Project THRIVE foundation and is supported by the City of Mobile, Youth Violence Prevention, and Gulf Distributing Company of Mobile.
