  1. "Love In Fairhop," a new Hulu series based in Alabama, is searching for extras, and the Mobile Film Office is encouraging locals to apply to be background characters. The series needs characters for a Spring Ball scene this Saturday, Mar. 25 at 6 p.m., and anyone interested can text 251.207.7362 to RSVP. The scene will be shot at The Garden At Bella Sera 25049 CO RD 49 in nearby Loxley, and any extras must come dressed in formal attire. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  2. Earlier this week, Mobile local Leonard Osborne was awarded the Civilian Lifesaving Award from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department for his efforts in saving his neighbor's 10-month-old child from choking last year. On Sept. 24, 2022, Osborne's neighbor brought her 10-month-old to his front door when the child was struggling to breathe, and Osborne immediately used his training to administer CPR while they waited for paramedics. Osborne said of the incident, "In life, you never know why you’re put some places and in some positions." (WKRG News 5)
  3. This past weekend, the nearby City of Semmes celebrated 20 years of the Azalea Festival at MGM High School. This festival helps spotlight local businesses, non-profit organizations, and fundraiser events and gives them additional exposure to help with their efforts. The festival this year included petting zoos, a bounce house, and over 80 vendors supplying needs at the event. (Fox 10 News)
