Smoky, Hazy Skies Expected In Solano County, North Bay: Advisory

Wildfire smoke from the McFarland, Monument, and River Complex fires may impact air quality.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Smoky, hazy skies may be visible Thursday and Friday in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties, as well as the East Bay, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District said in an air quality advisory.

"Smoke from the McFarland, Monument, and River Complex fires is expected to impact the North Bay and East Bay on Thursday and Friday, but the smoke is aloft and is not expected to cause unhealthy air quality," the air district said.

The McFarland Fire is burning in Shasta County, the Monument Fire in Trinity County and the River Fire in Nevada and Placer counties.

Air district officials say they will be monitoring air quality in the region, and encourage anyone who smells smoke to stay inside if possible.

People can follow real-time air quality readings in the region at Baaqmd.gov/highs.
