185 Tickets Handed Out In Berkeley On Feb. 19

BERKELEY, CA — With a focus on traffic hazards like distracted driving, 17 officers issued 185 citations in Berkeley on Wednesday of last week.

The Berkeley Police Department, in partnership with Alameda County law enforcement agencies and the California Highway Patrol, carried out a targeted traffic enforcement operation.

The HITT (High-Intensity Traffic Team) was deployed to high-collision areas across the city.

The operation was part of the BPD’s Three-Prong approach to traffic safety, which balances collision data and community concerns.

Funding came via a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
