• Fire behind Berkeley apartment building under investigation (berkeleyscanner.com) — Berkeley firefighters quickly contained a Saturday night blaze behind an apartment building on the 2500 block of San Pablo Avenue, preventing it from spreading inside. Residents were evacuated, nearby streets were closed, and heavy smoke with an acrid smell was reported as crews upgraded the response and called in an investigator to determine the cause.
