BERKELEY, CA – An oversized commercial vehicle enforcement operation last week resulted in eight citations issued for 14 California Vehicle Code offenses, the Berkeley Police Department said.
The California Highway Patrol assisted police in conducting the operation Wednesday in the area of Cedar and Milvia streets in which 15 vehicles were stopped, police said.
“This enforcement was in response to numerous complaints from the community regarding commercial vehicles failing to obey the City’s weight limitations as well as to protect our roadways from the potential damage on residential roadways caused by oversized commercial vehicles,” the BPD said in a statement.
