Bagels, Pizza, Greek: Berkeley Restaurants Named Best Of The East Bay

BERKELEY, CA - Readers of Diablo Magazine named three Berkeley restaurants the “Best of the East Bay” in 2023.

If you need a spot to start out the day, try Bagel Street Cafe at 2375 Telegraph Ave. It was runner-up in bagel category.

For lunch zip over to Zachary’s Chicago Pizza, with multiple locations including Berkeley, zacharys.com. Zachary's won the pizza category. Reader Katherine Loyd told Diablo Magazine, "I was never much of a pizza fan. Rather boring. But I fell in love with Zachary's—particularly the spinach and mushroom (and I used to hate spinach). A perfect blend of everything! Even the thin pizzas are wonderful."

If you are looking for another winner, try Troy Greek Cuisine, the winner of the Greek category, at 1843 Solano Ave.
