Berkeley Bakery's Chocolate Chip Cookies Among Best In The Bay Area
A ranking of the 11 best chocolate chip cookies by the East Bay Times includes a Berkeley indulgence.
BERKELEY, CA — If you have a sweet tooth, you'll be pleased to learn that a Berkeley bakery was selected by the East Bay Times as one of the 11 best spots for chocolate chip cookies in the Bay Area.
La Noisette Sweets, in Berkeley and Kensington, gets a glowing shout-out,"None of the chef patissier’s cookies are overly sugared, instead relying on quality chocolate and a well-measured hit of salt to deliver the flavor. The chocolate chip is an excellent version of the classic, soft and chewy with imported Valrhona chocolate and vanilla-smoked Maldon salt ($5)."
Owner Alain Shocron is originally from Morocco. After a career as a hairstylist, he indulged his love for sweets by opening a pastry shop in Berkeley. It is only open two days a week — 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The shop is located at 2701 Eighth St., Suite 116 in Berkeley.
You can also meet Shocron and sample his amazing treats from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays at the Kensington Farmers Market, 379-389 Colusa Ave. in Kensington.
While La Noisette Sweets was singled out for chocolate chip cookies, everything pictured on the shop's website looks amazing.
