Berkeley Half-Marathon Planned This Weekend
There is also a dog-, stroller- and kid-friendly 5K for the whole family.
BERKELEY, CA — Zipping down Telegraph Avenue, jogging around the UC Berkeley campus and on to the finish line, thousands of people are expected to run in the Berkeley Half Marathon on Sunday.
The 13.1-mile race begins at 7:30 a.m. on Milvia Street at Kittredge, winding its way through some of the city's most scenic areas and ending up at Civic Center Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, where a blowout party will follow.
For those who might be daunted by a race with the word "marathon" in it, there are shorter versions of the route. For example, dogs, strollers and kiddos are welcome in the 5K (translation: 3.1-mile) version of the race.
