BERKELEY, CA — The Berkeley Police Department (BPD) arrested two drivers for DUI and cited 24 others during a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint conducted on March 20, at Shattuck Avenue and Parker Street.

Officers contacted 935 drivers during the checkpoint, which was set up to promote public safety and reduce impaired driving-related crashes.

In addition to the two DUI arrests, 19 drivers were evaluated for impairment but released, and 24 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended/revoked license.
