Berkeley Professor Dismissed For Sexual Harassment
Breaking: The assistant professor worked in the Asian Studies Department.

BERKELEY, CA — A Berkeley Assistant Professor has been dismissed from the university for violating the school's Sexual Harassment Policy, according to a statement from the school. Blake Wentworth was found to have violated the University's Faculty Code of Conduct and its Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy when it was discovered that he had sexually harassed four students.
UC Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks made the decision after a review by two faculty investigators and full evidentiary hearing, according to the statement. Wentworth was a member of the Department of South and Southeast Asian Studies. He has been on involuntary leave since the investigators determined there was a problem back in June of 2016.
Wentworth's position was "untenured," so Dirks didn't need approval from the Regents to dismiss him. The nature of the sexual harassment claims was not made clear in the statement.
