DUI Suspect Accused Of Fatally Driving Over Person In Berkeley
Police said the victim was lying on the ground when the driver ran them over early Wednesday.
BERKELEY, CA — A man has been arrested after he allegedly drove his vehicle over a person lying on the ground near the parking roundabout at South Aquatic Park in Berkeley early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Miguel Angel Davila-Huizar, 40, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing bodily injury, driving without a license and gross vehicular manslaughter, Berkeley police said.
At 4:32 a.m., officers responded to South Aquatic Park on a report of a person pinned under a vehicle. When emergency personnel arrived, they found a 69-year-old man pinned underneath a vehicle that was parked just off of the parking roundabout at the South Aquatic Park entrance.

The man was declared deceased at the scene and his name was not immediately available.
