Police Investigate Sexual Assault Near UC Berkeley Campus

The assault happened during the early hours of Saturday morning, police said.

BERKELEY, CA — Police say they're investigating a sexual assault that happened during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Details about the incident were not made publicly available. But the Berkeley Police Department said a stranger assaulted the victim around 1:45 a.m.

The victim later reported the assault on Sunday night, police said.

The assault comes just over a week after police said someone was sexually assaulted at a campus residence hall. On Halloween night, a female was also sexually battered at Lower Sproul Plaza, according to police.

It's unclear whether anyone involved in these assaults is a student.
