Shooting Shuts Down I-80

Lanes have since reopened, authorities announced at 9:43 a.m.

OAKLAND, CA — A major Bay Area freeway is now open following a shooting investigation Friday morning, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol announced just before 7 a.m. that the eastbound Eastshore (I-80) to the southbound Nimitz (I-880) freeways connector was closed due to police activity. Lanes have since reopened, authorities said around 9:43 a.m.

Details about the shooting were limited. The closure caused traffic delays in the area.
