Suspects In Berkeley Shooting Arrested After Leading Officers On Chase: Police

BERKELEY, CA — Police say two people wanted in connection with a shooting in Berkeley over the weekend were arrested after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in Oakland on Monday.
The suspects were involved in a shooting in West Berkeley on Saturday afternoon, police said. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the shooting.
The suspects were driving along the 1300 block of 64th Avenue in Oakland on Monday around 3:30 p.m. when officers tried to pull them over, police said.

The driver of the car refused to pull over, instead leading officers on a reckless high-speed police chase through city streets, police said.
Officers eventually ended the pursuit due to "unsafe conditions," instead choosing to have a helicopter pilot keep track of the drivers, police said.

The driver eventually pulled over in the area of Harold Street and Coolidge Avenue and was taken into custody, police said. But the passenger moved into the driver's seat of the car and took off, police said.
They later pulled over in the area of 41st Avenue and East 16th Street and were arrested, police said.
During the arrest, officers learned both suspects had outstanding warrants, police said. Police did not say what the outstanding warrants were in relation to.
Several guns and ammo were also seized during the investigation, police said.
