'Game of Thrones' Junkies Can Learn Dothraki In Berkeley

Breaking: A class on language featured in the popular show will be taught this summer.

BERKELEY, CA — A six-week course presented by the man (and UC Berkeley alumnus) who invented two dialects used in the immensely popular HBO series "Game of Thrones" is being offered at Berkeley this summer, according to the university.

UC Berkeley students can learn 'Dothraki' and 'High Valyrian' if they sign up for "The Linguistics of Game of Thrones and the Art of Language Invention," taught by David J. Peterson, the man who created the dialects for the show.

“There’s precisely as much value in creating a new language as there is in creating a new fictional story,” Peterson said in a press release from the university.
