Where To Grab A Breakfast Sandwich In Berkeley

BERKELEY, CA — The new year gives you an opportunity to focus on your health, and that may include starting your day with a hearty breakfast.

Here in Berkeley, you can pick up a sandwich on the way to campus, the office, or during the morning school run.

The Mercury News recently came up with a list of nine Bay Area restaurants serving noteworthy breakfast sandwiches, and Berkeley's KaoKao Grill made the list. "The specialty here is in-house smoked meats with an Asian flair, either yogurt-marinated chicken or char siu pork that’s brined in Sichuan spices for 24 hours then cooked over cherrywood for hours on end," the newspaper reports.

The egg sandwich includes several hunks of smoked meat on an English muffin with an omelet and melted cheese.

KaoKao Grill is at 2993 College Ave. It is open Tuesday through Sunday.
