Crash Closes Hayward Street For 24 Hours

The road is expected to reopen Friday morning.

HAYWARD, CA — Police in Hayward estimate Second Street will be closed for about 24 hours while PG&E crews restore power and repair damage caused by a single-vehicle, non-injury crash into a power pole early Thursday.

The road is closed between Walpert Street and Sylvan Glen Court, police said in a 5:50 a.m. announcement.

Police urged people to avoid the area.
