Firefighters Respond to Structure Fire on James Avenue
According to reports, there is a two-alarm fire in Castro Valley Saturday evening.
Update: 9 a.m.: Five people safely escaped from a house fire on James Avenue in Castro Valley Saturday evening, according to news reports.
Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading, according to KTVU.com.
Nearby residents told Patch that Heyer Avenue was blocked while emergency crews responded. One neighbor reported seeing flames from the fire from her hot tub.

According to the PulsePoint emergency alert system, fire units were called to a structure fire at 4429 James Ave. in Castro Valley Saturday evening.
The fire was reported just after 8 p.m.
