Man Dead After Alleged Domestic Dispute, One Woman in Custody

HAYWARD, CA — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in Hayward after a standoff Friday afternoon. According to police, officers responded to the 28000 block of Thourp Lane shortly after noon, and found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound in a garage.

Witnesses told police a woman who lived at the residence was present during the incident. Police said they were able to make contact with the woman via telephone and after several hours of negotiating the woman surrendered without incident. Both the victim and the suspect's names are being withheld at this time, and an investigation is ongoing.
