Police Investigate Deadly Shooting In Hayward

No arrests have been made in the shooting that left an unidentified 55-year-old Hayward resident dead.

HAYWARD, CA — Hayward police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead in the city over the weekend.

The deadly shooting was first reported at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 in the 400 block of Berry Avenue in the city's Jackson Triangle neighborhood, a news release issued by Hayward PD said.

"Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, a 55-year-old Hayward resident, suffering from gunshot wounds," the news release said.

Medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene, Hayward PD said.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No arrests have been made in the case, police said.

The death is the Hayward's ninth homicide this year.
